Don't tell me, there's nothing to do because there's enough theater going on in Lafayette these days to keep you away from home all weekend long.

Love's Labour's Lost
In its 10th year under the Acting Up (in Acadiana) banner, the Summer Youth Shakespeare Ensemble will perform the Bard's Love's Labour's Lost Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m., at the Acadiana Center for the Arts, 101 W. Vermilion.
Literally an ensemble cast of youthful performers, Labour's actors talk the talk of Shakespeare's day, but they walk the walk in a contemporary way.

'Rehearsal'
Over at Cite des Arts, 109 Vine St., The Rehearsal continues this weekend beginning Thursday (tonight) at 7:30 p.m., as well as Friday and Saturday. A 3 p.m. matinee is set for Sunday.
The Rehearsal is about a playwright who believes he is savvy to the newest trends in drama and literature. He gets a couple of his friends to see what he considers a "future hit," and they find that it's not so much.
"It's very goofball. It's really hard to describe except that it's really goofball," says Christy Leitchy, director at Cite.
Lauren Greene Whyte produces and directs the play and she also made the costumes.
The Rehearsal, performed first in 1671, was penned by the infamous court wit George Villiers. It is 60 years post-Shakespeare (just past the Cavalier/Musketeer period in history). Lafayette is the second city in the U.S. to produce the play.

'Wolves and 'D'
Neil Gaiman's Wolves in the Walls opens today at 7:30 p.m. in Burke-Hawthorne Hall on the UL campus. It continues Friday and Saturday at the same time and Sunday at 3 p.m.
The story line in Wolves has Lucy hearing strange noises in the walls, noises she believes to be wolves. No one believes her except her puppet, Pig. The play included human actors and puppetry design by Brady McKellar and Elsa Dimitriadis, artistic directors of Wanderlust Theatre Co., who will incorporate a host of puppetry techniques.
In Book of D by Cody Daigle imagination and myth combine to help two young people forge a friendship and cope with the pressures of growing up.
