The Junior and Senior division all-star teams from Lafayette Little League take the next step toward the Little League World Series this weekend as they head west for regional play. Having secured state championships recently, the teams comprising 13- and 14 year olds (Junior) and 15- and 16 year olds (Senior) will travel to Seguin, Texas, and Albuquerque, NM. If the teams are successful in regional play they'll head to their respective World Series locales in Michigan and Maine.

But the boys need the community's help with travel and lodging expenses. Supporters of the team have set up a 2012 World Series Fund to help defray these exorbitant costs. Because it's not a "city league," Lafayette Little League receives no support from Lafayette Consolidated Government.
