Acting Up (in Acadiana) commences its fall acting classes in early September. Acting Up (in Acadiana) commences its fall acting classes in early September. Classes are open for aspiring actors ages 7 to adult and are held at the Acadiana Center for the Arts downtown. The classes are taught by members of Acting Up (in Acadiana), the resident theater company at the AcA.

Led by Artistic Director Amy Waguespack, the company includes veterans from the stage, film and television who have worked in Chicago, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York and elsewhere.

Classes begin the week of Sept. 10. Elementary classes are held from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays; junior high: 4:30-6 p.m. Mondays; high school/beginner adult: 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays. The registration fee is $85; monthly tuition is $60.
