A new literary drafting workshop will begin meeting on Saturdays at Cité des Arts downtown with a goal of helping writers in any genre and at any level hone their skills and discuss their craft.

A new literary drafting workshop will begin meeting on Saturdays at Cité des Arts downtown with a goal of helping writers in any genre and at any level hone their skills and discuss their craft. Acadiana Wordlab's premise is simple. Show up for two hours, hear a presentation by an established artist, write for 20 minutes on your own then discuss. The only caveat in these unstructured, uncensored sessions is that participants be willing to read aloud what they produce during the individual writing session.

Scheduled guest presenters for 2012 include Jessica Bordelon of Revolution Theory, Kelly Clayton, Alex Johnson, Jerry McGuire of UL, Patrice Melnick of the Festival of Words, Jonathan Penton of Unlikely Stories, Marthe Reed of ULL, and Reggie Rodrigue.

Acadiana Wordlab begins meeting Saturday, Oct. 6 from 2-4 p.m. To find out more, click here.
