UL cruising for kinesiology

by Wynce Nolley

The UL Kinesiology Department's latest fundraiser is giving away a chance to win a Caribbean cruise for two.

The UL Kinesiology Department is partnering with the family of late UL graduate David Trosclair for a benefit fundraiser called Cruise Toward UL Scholarships.

In exchange for the generous donation of a mere $10, entrants are entered into a drawing to win a luxurious Carnival Cruise for two to the Caribbean, which is supplied by the Travel Machine travel agency. Each ticket is also good for one free carwash at Todd's Carwash that includes a vehicle wash and wipe down, interior vacuum and dusting, tire dressing and a no rain guarantee.

Ticketholders are also entered into an additional raffle for items like an autographed football from Drew Brees; autographed UL Ragin' Cajun collectibles from the likes of coach Mark Hudspeth, Jake Delhomme, Ladarius Green and Brian Mitchell; and gift cards from local businesses including Rochetto's Pizzeria, Rok Haus, Café Vermilionville and Capital Cyclery.

All proceeds raised from the event go straight to the David Trosclair Memorial Scholarship in kinesiology, which is awarded each year to a worthy UL kinesiology major during the College of Education's Awards Banquet.

Tickets can be purchased at the Travel Machine located at 102 Westmark Blvd. in the Oil Center or at any Todd's Car Wash with locations at 5505 Johnston St., 2309 W. Pinhook Road and at 811 S. Lewis St., in New Iberia. Tickets can also be purchased by calling Carol Trosclair at 255-8155 or online by visiting thedailysportsbuzz.com.
