Learn tap dancing at Cité

by Wynce Nolley

Cité des Arts is bringing back the lost art of tap dancing to Lafayette's emerging dance scene with its fall adult tap dancing classes.

Cité des Arts will be offering tap dancing lessons for adults of all skill levels starting today at 5:30 p.m. and continuing every Monday through the rest of the year.

This hour-long dance workshop will be led by seasoned dance instructor Debbie Moore, a member of Dance Masters of America who has taught dance to students all over the world including a 19-year stint in Saudi Arabia in addition to dance classes at the UL Continuing Education program.

Be sure to bring your own tap shoes for this class geared toward beginners and advanced students. While this class will usually cost $35 every month, Moore says she will only ask for $17.50 for the remaining two classes in September.

For more information call Debbie Moore at 266-5331, Cité des Arts at 291-1122 or go online at citedesarts.org.
