Tipitina's Co-op next free workshop Taxes for Freelancers begins downtown tonight at 6 p.m.
For the many aspiring musicians, writers, filmmakers and small business owners,
the thought of having to deal with the IRS every year can be pretty daunting.
With this in mind, Tipitina's Co-op in Downtown Lafayette is offering another one of its free workshops called Taxes for Freelancers.
The workshop is led by Ellen Cook, a licensed Certified Public Accountant who taught accounting for more than 30 years at UL Lafayette. Cook will cover several basic topics of maintaining the finances of your small business including the different forms of business ownership, what is required in filing taxes on a LLC each year, record keeping and regulating business deductions and expenses.
