Women Who Mean Business luncheon brings out some seriously well dressed ladies There were a lot of women who meant business in their closets yesterday morning and the evidence was draped on their fabulously dressed bodies at River Oaks. The Women Who Mean Business luncheon brought out, of course, a lot of business attire. But, most notably, brought a great combination of feminine lines and standbys made fresh with gentile touches and bold colors.
The IND's own Cherry Fisher May led the pack of those that broke the mold with a blue textured jacket and on trend boots. Sharon Moss wore a great pair of brown and black pants (we are loving black and brown together and you should, too) she snagged at Shi Shi. And if mother-daughter duos were earning style awards at the luncheon, the team of Mary Ann and Setareh Mirian would have snagged top prize. Setareh was glowing in a blue dress while Mary Ann looked vibrant in a yellow dress while carrying an equally yellow and fabulous bag.
Three of our favorite picks were from Beth Ardoin of Iberia Bank, who managed to stay fresh and all business at once, the beautiful Paloma Reyes who kept it edgy with a fun necklace and IND Style honoree Mallory Acrey in a flirty polka dot skirt and bold top. (And a blue manicure. It's all about blue, ladies.)
Despite her financial roots, Beth kept things less serious with a striped jacket with a great little shape on her petite frame. We know there surely must be a fine line in dressing on trend and remaining banker appropriate. We imagine they're a little more picky on dress codes than we are here at IND Style. (Although, I think leather leggings could really keep things fun in the boardroom.)
Mallory stayed true to her love of color and Mad Men-inspired style and brought the funky with her manicure and statement necklace.
Paloma was lovely in a fresh pontytail, Michael Kors dress from Knotting Hill and edgy black necklace and bangles from Kiki along with a bright bag.
While the highlight of the event was surely the inspiring speeches from honorees (Stephanie Mitchell Bertrand had me misty eyed), a bold bag, edgy manicure and funky pair of pants gave us over at IND Style our own kind of inspiration. Thanks, ladies.
