Louisiana Folk Roots is hosting two days of cooking classes with musical chefs Roddie Romero, Linzay Young and Pat Mould. On Sept. 22 and 29, join Roddie Romero of The Hub City All-Stars, Linzay Young of the Red Stick Ramblers and acclaimed Louisiana chef Pat Mould for cooking workshops at Vermilionville's L'école de cuisine from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The sessions will be a combination of cooking and musical performances, as well as food sampling and story swapping.
On the 22nd, Romero will instruct attendees on how to prepare shrimp, crab and poached egg fricassé and Mould will share his creole potato salad recipe. On the 29th, Young will cook his black pot jambalaya, and Mould will prepare his chunky chocolate walnut bread pudding with Kahlua cream sauce.
