Cité des Arts will host the Spinner's Web Storytelling Cirlce Friday night at 7 p.m.
South Louisiana is filled to the brim with characters with great stories and even more of those who are all too eager to share them with anyone who is willing to listen.
On Friday night, Cite des Arts will house some of those stories when it hosts local storyteller Jim Phillips as he leads a stalwart cast of folklorists, artists, educators, chefs and musicians in a storytelling circle celebrating Louisiana's Bicentennial called The Spinner's Web Storytelling Circle.
Philips will be joined on-stage by fellow storyteller and Cajun folklorist Barry Ancelet, seasoned educator Sally O. Donlon, Mitchell Reed of BeauSoleil, local culinary artist Bill Matthews and fine artisan Hogie Seibert as they all share their stirring anecdotes about their crafts, experiences, and interactions with the audience.
The show begins tonight at 7 p.m. sharp at Cite des Arts in downtown Lafayette. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at citedesarts.org. Reservations can also be made by calling 291-1122.
