Falling into style

Halloween arrives in decor, style and eats

October arrived with a pleasant chill yesterday and in Lafayette we spotted some spooky items in home, accessories and eats.

Katie Bakes rolled out pumpkin spice cupcakes topped with a lovely little pumpkin candy. And over at Shoe La La we spotted an assortment of skull bracelets that are cute for Halloween and perfectly rock and roll for the rest of the year. Layered with some spike-decked bracelets or hippie chic wrap bracelets and leather cuffs, you'll have a boho look that's colorful and on trend.

For the home, forget all those big orange pumpkins and go for simple black with spooky animals like bats and black ravens. We would love these framed creepy creatures on a tabletop surrounded by glossy back candlesticks and apothecary jars filled with ghoulish bits (think little spiders and eyeballs) or a giant glass cloche topped over a slithering snake. In fact, eschew the orange all together and go black and purple for a different twist on the Halloween home.
