Expect the unexpected as acclaimed improvisational jazz saxophonist Dave Rempis brings the vibe to Cité des Arts Friday night. Joined by Jeff Albert on trombone, Josef Butts on bass and Marcello Benetti on drums, Rempis' performance begins at 8 p.m.
Among his many accomplishments, Rempis was named a Talent Deserving Wider Recognition in Downbeat Magazine's annual international critics' poll. He leads a number of jazz combos in Chicago including The Engines, the Rempis Percussion Quartet, Wheelhouse and Triage and is a regular on the European and North American tour scenes. Rempis also curates a weekly concert series at Elastic Arts as well as the Umbrella Music Festival.
Rempis' performance is part of Cité's Jazz on Jefferson concert series. Admission is $10. Cité is located at 109 Vine St. downtown.
