The Blue Moon Saloon will host Louisiana Groove, a benefit concert for the Festival of Words, with music from Henry Gray, Donnie & The Pooldoos, and more.

The Blue Moon Saloon will host Louisiana Groove, a benefit concert for the Festival of Words, on Sunday, Oct. 21 featuring the swamp pop stylings of Donnie & the Pooldoos and music from father/daughter zydeco duo Lisa and Harry Trahan. The event culminates when legendary blues pianist Henry Gray joins Lawrence Taylor and Alonzo Johnson to open up the stage for a blues jam.

Attendees can also purchase food from local vendors including past a mano and 2Paul's Barbecue, as well as the Festival of Words' "Drive-by Poetry" t-shirts and raffle tickets for a hand-made quilt.

All proceeds from the event go directly to support this year's Festival of Words, which runs from Nov. 8-12 in Grand Coteau. Louisiana Groove will be held from 3-7 p.m. at the Blue Moon Saloon on Sunday, Oct. 21. Admission for the event is $10.
