Blushing brides

by Amanda Bedgood

Biel's blushing bridal choice. Is she 'in'?

Jessica Biel has fantastic style. A woman to watch on the red carpet, Biel also tends to nail the everyday look and stay on the edge of beauty trends while remaining utterly beautiful. And so, when this kind of style maven says "I do," our first question is "What did she wear?" And Biel didn't disappoint when she said "I do" to the equally attractive Justin Timberlake.

She rocked a pink Giambattista Valli dress that was as girly as they come. So, is pink the new white? The expert in all things blanc, Blanc bridal owner Ashely Primeaux says not so much.

"Blush and pink dresses have been around awhile," Primeaux says.

She says some celeb brides have veered so far away from traditional white that she's seen colors down the aisle like green.

"But, typically, if you're going to wear a dress in a color other than white, it's going to be a blush," Primeaux says.

Perhaps it's giving away the age of this IND Styler, but my first thought when I see a pink dress on the big day is always the ever fabulous Gwen Stefani. When she married my super crush Gavin Rossdale she wore an incredible ombre pink dress from the likes of John Galliano a la Dior. And most recently the always cute Reese Witherspoon wore a beautiful barely blush Monique Lhuillier dress for her second trip down the aisle. While it looks like blush dresses are something that comes and goes depending on the bride's personal taste, Primeaux did let us know that the real trend to be spotted at the Biel-Timberlake nuptials were the bridesmaid dresses totally white.

"A lot of brides are doing white bridesmaid dresses," she says. And before we can ask if this has something to do with a certain new royal, she points to Pippa Middleton's white maid of honor dress.

A bride who's not intimidated by her ladies in the same color? Sounds kind of fearless to us. We're in.
