Ready, set, gleaux

Camellia Crossing rolls out new theme

On Thanksgiving Eve while many are prepping turkey and crumbling cornbread for dressing (or maybe that's just me), hundreds will roll out for the Miles Perret Camellia Crossing run and this year they're asking you to gleaux (or glow, whichever you prefer). The event to raise funds for the local charity that provides services for those fighting cancer is debuting their first ever "Show us your GLEAUX" contest for the most creative dressers (and you know how we love some creative dressing over here at IND Style).

"We're encouraging people to wear things that glow, light up, blink and flash," says director Nicole Jones.

In fact, the packs for participants will include gleaux items (while supplies last) to encourage the new facet of the event.

The fun starts Wednesday night at 5:30 in the town square of River Ranch and includes both a one-mile family fun run and walk and a 5K. After the race, plan to party with eats, music and awards. Registration is $25 for youth and $35 for adults.  Call 984-1920 for more information. And get ready to gleaux!
