Lucie Arnaz to Go Red in 2013

by Patrick Flanagan

At a press conference this morning, the LHC Group announced Arnaz will be the keynote speaker for the 2013 Go Red Luncheon, held annually to raise awareness about the threat heart disease poses for women.

Lucie Arnaz, daughter of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, will be the keynote speaker for the LHC Group's 2013 Go Red event.

Arnaz lost her mother to heart-related complications in 1989, and has since been a strong advocate for the Go Red cause.

During this morning's press conference, LHC Group chairman and CEO Keith Myers begged the question: "Who didn't love Lucy?"

"Heart health is a very personal issue for us," says Myers. "My wife Ginger lost her father to heart disease. It's the number one killer of women and over 83% of our employees are female. Most of what we do at LHC is to treat people with existing illness. We view this as an opportunity to be preventative."

The luncheon will be held at the Lafayette Hilton Motel at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7.
