Dental Day for musicians

Lafayette's many musical professionals are invited to the Lafayette Community Healthcare Clinic today for complimentary dental care.

Today, the Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation Health Care Initiative is joining with the Recording Academy's MusiCares service division and the SMILE Program to offer the many local music industry professionals, who may be lackin proper insurance, quality dental services at the Lafayette Community Healthcare Clinic all day until 5 p.m.

"It's vital for music professionals to maintain good dental health" says LCEF Healthcare Initiative Director Kathy Richard in a release. "Research shows that poor oral health is associated with increased risks of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other life-threatening conditions."

Dental care being provided includes dental exams, X-rays and teeth cleanings to musicians, sound engineers, music producers and music agents operating in and around the Lafayette area.
