Acclaimed singer-songwriters Shawn Colvin and Mary Chapin Carpenter will make a stop at the Heymann Performing Arts Center in February - their only Louisiana performance in an eight-date tour of the southeastern U.S. in 2013. The pair will perform on Feb. 27. Tickets go on sale Wednesday.

In case you've been a coma for the last 25 years, both Carpenter and Colvin are Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum artists whose careers were separately launched by Columbia Records in the late 1980s, and with nearly a dozen Top 20 Billboard hits on both the country and folk charts between, they've maintained vigorous recording and touring schedules ever since.

Carpenter has been awarded Top New Female Vocalist (1990) and Top Female Vocalist (1992) by the Academy of Country Music and Female Vocalist of the Year in both 1992 and '93 by the Country Music Association as well as Grammys in various country categories between 1992 and '95 - five Grammys total. In addition to seven Grammy nominations between 1994 and 2009, Colvin has racked up three Grammys: Best Contemporary Folk Album (1991), Record of the Year and Song of the Year (for her smash hit "Sunny Came Home" in 1998).

The Carpenter-Colvin concert is a brand-new addition to the Performing Arts Society of Acadiana's 2012-2013 season. PASA hasn't publicly announced the concert yet, but check the group's website beginning Tuesday to score some tickets.
