Style on the geaux

Ragin' fashion for the big game

This IND Styler has been to her fair share of football games. As a gal in the south I've braved sweltering heat sunburns at the first kickoff and bundled up thicker than that kid in A Christmas Story for bowl games. There are two kinds of women at football games: the ones with nothing more than a tube of chapstick in their pocket and girls like me. You know us carrying giant handbags and wearing a full face of makeup.

And so, in honor of the Cajuns big game this weekend I've gathered some pieces whether you're hitting the stands in a hoodie or something a little more haute.

Cajun fans are lucky. Red and black are naturally a great color combo. And thanks to the ridiculously fantastic trend of colored denim, red jeans are everywhere. We've picked a pair from Vanessa V. that are pepper hot. They paired it with a funky denim shirt in black and white. But, those red jeans could truly work with anything this weekend. A slouchy sweater, a preppy button down, even a weathered sporty t-shirt would be great with some funky sneakers. (And for months to come you can rock that red denim with any and every color for an on trend look.)

Over at Hemline we eyed some black waxed jeans. Perfect paired with a red sweater or t-shirt and cute enough to rock post game for drinks on the town.

At Jewelie's some leather shorts are what the daring fashionista wears for a bowl game. Pair with opaque tights to winterize the look and try some little black booties on the feet.

Brother's on the Boulevard has an awesome poncho-ish sweater we're digging. Perfect over skinny skinny black denim or leggings and some riding boots. And then there was Tory. Over at kiki, Tory Burch bags in a vibrant hot red are a statement that screams 'Geaux Cajuns' now and will be cute through the winter and into spring.
