Shimmer into 2013

by Amanda Bedgood

All new NYE looks

There are few holidays that beg more desperately for a dash of sparkle or shimmer or shine than New Year's Eve. For as long as I can
remember, I eyed metallic-threaded sweaters and extra sparkly jewelry with NYE in mind. Some things never change. And so this year I've spotted a few expected and a few unexpected looks to rock this New Year's Eve.
For the sophisticated try a shimmering pant like the ones pictured from Shoe La La. One shoulder tops are flattering on most body types and there's something that's both youthful and grownup about this look. A great combo whether you're 25 or 45.
For the funky among us, bring some sparkle to the aztec trend. This beaded mini from Hemline is just the way to go boho or eclectic and stay dressy for the clinking of champagne glasses come midnight. Wear with nude pumps and a flowing top or go downtown and wear with flat boots and a sweater.
Over at Little Town we spotted a flattering dress that covers while remaining utterly sexy. With a sequin skirt and sheer sleeves, this dress would be great with bare legs or tights and platform high high heels. Speaking of legs ... if you've got 'em, rock 'em in this dress (or top depending on your height and bravery) from Vanessa V. Throw on a metallic belt to whittle your middle or leave loose to hide those extra servings of sweet potato casserole. Sparkling necklaces, an arm full of bangles and some mile high booties would be fabulous. And if you're a legging junky (guilty) a patterned or shiny pair would be totally on trend while keeping you comfy. If how you spend your last seconds of 2012 is an indicator of how you'll spend 2013, we advise you give it a try. Who doesn't want a year that's a marriage of fabulous and comfortable?
