Louisiana-Lafayette softball assistant coach Joy Webre-LeBlanc has resigned.
LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Louisiana-Lafayette softball assistant coach Joy Webre-LeBlanc has resigned.
Webre-LeBlanc, in a statement, says she has decided to "head in a different direction in my career and focus on family."
The university announced the resignation Wednesday
Webre-LeBlanc first served as the Ragin' Cajuns' assistant coach in 2008 and helped guide the team to the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City. In 2009, she helped the team claim its ninth Sun Belt Conference championship and advance to the NCAA Regional championship game against Baylor.
She spent the next two seasons as head coach at St. Thomas More High School before returning to ULL for her second stint on the coaching staff.
Webre-LeBlanc played softball at ULL from 2002-05, starting every game during her four-year career - a total of 248 games.
