When one store closes ...

Wa-Zoo doors shut, business stays afloat

Lafayette's go-to downtown boutique may be closing its doors, but Wa-Zoo is actually still in business.

When we saw 75 percent off clothes and fixtures for sale we were perplexed (okay, we were more excited about that whopping 75 percent off, but we were perplexed as well). So, why is owner Noelle Reed hanging up the skinny jeans?

"I'm getting married, staying home and being a mom. Going to relax for the first time in 13 years," she says.

A mother of three (with her eyes on adding to the brood in the future), Noelle says she isn't really hanging up the whole shebang. The Wa-Zoo website will continue. But, after nine years downtown (following her first location on University) and years of a lot of work, the store owner is excited about what's next.

And those who love her trendy pieces can breathe a sigh of relief, they'll still be available online and Noelle is toying with the option of offering local delivery for those around these parts. Stay tuned.
