Area schools penalized by LHSAA

In each case the violation of LHSAA bylaws were self-reported by Comeaux High and Crowley High. The Louisiana High School Athletic Association has placed two local high schools on probation and forced one of them to forfeit games for violating the organization's rules. In each case the violation of LHSAA bylaws were self-reported by Comeaux High and Crowley High.

Comeaux was placed on probation after reporting to the state high school athletics governing body that one its boys' basketball team players played games on a basketball team not affiliated with the school, which is a violation. Both the girls' volleyball and basketball teams at Crowley High were penalized for allowing players to participate who were not academically eligible. The girls' basketball must forfeit eight games dating back to Nov. 20, 2012. Crowley's girls' volleyball team didn't win any games in which the academically ineligible player participated.
