Politics in Louisiana 2013:

What to Expect from the Upcoming Legislative Session,

Senate Race and Our Governor's Future

Featuring

John Maginnis

Author and Syndicated Independent Journalist

The political landscape in Louisiana is never boring but 2013 could be a banner year for headlines. From a hot legislative agenda that includes major tax reform and more in the upcoming session to the U.S. Senate race this fall and Governor Jindal's plans beyond, there has never been greater interest in Louisiana politics, its politicians and the potential impact they could have, not only within the state but across the entire nation.

When it comes to all things political in Louisiana, there is no more respected opinion than that of John Maginnis. With his own unique brand of wit and wisdom, Maginnis has covered the events and players in our very colorful state since 1972. A legend in print, he launched LaPolitics Weekly in 1993, a successful foray into the digital age where respected colleague Jeremy Alford has since joined him. Maginnis also writes a weekly syndicated column that appears in 16 daily and weekly newspapers around the state and has authored two books: The Last Hayride in 1984 and Cross to Bear in 1992. Maginnis frequently comments on Louisiana politics for the national media and in 2000 was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Manship School of Communications at LSU. He is currently working on a website called Howtogetelected.com to encourage first-time candidates to run for office.
