Acadiana 365: Picks of the Day

This weekend's highlights from Acadiana 365 feature two top performances taking place in downtown Lafayette.

These are some samplings of the many events happening around Acadiana this weekend taken directly from the pages of the area's only online community calendar Acadiana 365.

David Wilcox
Acadiana Center for the Arts
Friday, March 1
7:30 p.m.

Next in queue for the Performing Arts Society of Acadiana's singer-songwriter series is folk artist David Wilcox. Wilcox will take the stage tonight armed only with a single guitar to deliver a folk trifecta of hypnotic guitaring, silky baritone vocals and seasoned lyrical dexterity. Tickets are $55 and can be purchased at the AcA Box Office or online by clicking here.

New York Polyphony
Acadiana Center for the Arts
Saturday, March 2
7:30 p.m.

NPR calls New York Polyphony "rich, natural sound that's larger and more complex than the sum of its parts," and after witnessing the magnitude of the collective quartet's vocal power it is easy to understand why the command such praise. In addition to their vocal attributes, New York Polyphony affords a range in their performance from bygone formal pieces to unforgettable modern melodies. Tickets range from $15-30 depending on seating and are available at the AcA Box Office or online.
