Mad Hatters luncheon ladies create a symphony of style
If you know anything about this IND Styler, you know I love a good hat. And so, it is no surprise that the Mad Hatters luncheon is an occasion I hate to miss. The Symphony's signature event Monday at the Hilton brought out a bevy of demure ladies in even more demure hats (think royal wedding with a little less of the wacky and a little more of the refined) and a host of models on the runway rocking the latest in spring style.
Our first fashionista spotted for the day was the ever-colorful Sharon Moss. She didn't disappoint in her spring ensemble. With a turquoise peplum and contrasting melon-hued hat, she was just what this spring is all about - pairing bright colors and ladylike style. We were loving her pal Janie Bayard's turban take on the hat (stay tuned for how to rock a turban in an upcoming IND Style blog) and the ever vivacious Larayn Guidroz wore Pantone's color of the year emerald green top for just a pop of color in her dark ensemble.
Laura Ketteringham of IND and Donna Byrne of AT&T were every bit the ladies who lunch in demure dresses and hats while Judy Dunn took things in a wild direction with her eclectic blend of prints (so hot for spring) and tangerine topper. ASO's queen bee Jenny Krueger was pretty as ever in a lovely little feathered fascinator and dress with a bit of springy melon shade near the hem.
Our favorite hat of the day went to Rhonda Bond who wore a lovely pink suit and a hat that was perfection. Covered in pink flowers with the most discreet little pink velvet bow, her vintage find was just how to make something old something quite new.
On the runway there were dazzling girls in Lemon Drop's hi-low dresses (it's all about hi-low, ladies). We loved the fresh shades of spring from La Marquise's model (especially stylista Nandi Lindscombe in a vivid asymmetrical pink number). But, what caught our eye were the more subdued shades from Renaissance Market's new line. Mauggie Pastor and Simone Foreman flowed down the runway in muted hues. And while spring is all about color, I can't resist a flowy all black ensemble anymore than I can a good hat.
