Naturally done

by Amanda Bedgood

Footwear takes a cue from nature come spring with materials both chic and earthy.

We can all agree synthetic footwear never has been much of a thing of beauty. But, the newest in shoes gives a new meaning to natural with fabrications both beautiful and casual with touches of natural materials that welcome the laid back ease of warmer days.

The first pair we spotted hail from Shoe La La. Tom's standby shape may still be the brand's hallmark, but increasingly the giving foot empire is branching into wedges and styles that stay true to the laid back vibe of Tom's but continue to surprise. These chambray wedges are just such a thing. With rope heel and casual vibe, we'd love to see them paired with a lightweight cargo pant or skinny white jean.

In the skinny white jean department we also have a pair of orange-detailed mile high wedges with rope detail from Herringstone's. Perfect with a bright floral flirty little dress or with a pair of vivid emerald ankle pants.

A pair of cork heels from Shoe Fits is the way to do nude heels now. We're loving the simple shape of these Donald Pliner's and picturing them with (once again) white denim as well as this season's seen-everywhere-in-the world color - mint.

For the gents, we spotted these uber cool linen-trimmed shoes at Brother's. How perfect to pair with spring's linen pants for a look that's laid back cool. Or even a pair of easy denim for an everyday look.

While the temperature continues to bob up and down, shoes are the sure fire way to take your look to a place that's far springier than our forecast may appear.
