Dish of the Day: Freetown Fries' crawfish étouffry

by Elizabeth Rose

Throw étouffée on anything and it's tasty. Freetown Fries is serving up its Lenten special today: a crawfish étouffry.

From 11 p.m. to 2 p.m. today, you can find Freetown Fries at the corner of Roselawn and Johnston streets, a now regular hangout spot for Lafayette's food trucks.

The étouffry is a tray full of the truck's classic medium-cut fries, lightly seasoned, topped with homemade crawfish étouffée and sprinkled with green onions for bite. It's a spicy, creamy indulgence for a beautiful Friday afternoon.
