Each month we'll answer the fashion-focused questions from our readers - everything from looking for the perfect dress for that beach wedding or the easiest way to wear those new wedge sneakers without looking like Justin Beiber. Our first such question comes from busy mom Ashlee LaFleur, who likes to stay en vogue but wants a lesson on rocking the newest in wares for the hair.

Q: I am noticing these new headbands that you wear around your forehead toward the front of your face instead of on top. I love them and they are all the rave but my question is: If you have a longer forehead how do you pull it off and how do you wear you hair? Do you accentuate with dangled earrings or studs?

A: The Hippie Headband (our name for it) works no matter the leanings of your forehead.

For hair prepped for a Hippie Headband, we advise nearly zero volume on top. Our model, Sydney Martien, has some volume concentrated on the lower portion of her hair after a quick job of a curling iron. But super straight hair works as well.

Accessories depend greatly on the look you're working toward - hippie and boho or a bit more refined. If you're looking for the rocker chic vibe, add some tough girl earrings in silver. If it's the boho vibe you seek, some long dangling earrings with a nod to nature are great and even better if in an unexpected metallic like copper.

We found two groovy options around town. The simple stretchy braided version from HerringStone's is less than $20 and comes in a variety of colors and works well with a casual vibe like cutoffs or a flirty little sun dress for summer. For a different take, a turban is the latest option. Hemline has these utterly fashion forward finds for $40 in funky fabrics like an American Flag, leopard and even a skull print - the way to do rocker without fear.
