Under 50: Viva Festival

by Amanda Bedgood

A handful of items all locally found under $50.

Festival International may be all about the music, but you've got to wear something to enjoy all those fantastic tunes. And yeah, yeah, yeah, we know you want to be comfy while you're lounging under the trees, but you can look fabulous while doing it - with ease. And, bonus, on the cheap. We've rounded up five finds under $50 from local boutiques - comfy pieces for easy days and even easier nights at the best Francophone fest on the planet.

Mint to be
The freshest shade for spring is the perfect jean for festival days. Pair with a distressed rocker T and old sneakers for a simple day of music. Mint green jeans from Vertage ($44).

His (and hers)
This tank ($34) from Maven Menswear is made for him, but easily worn by her. Pair with a simple khaki short for him and a pair of super short cutoffs for her.

Well heeled
This super flat sandal ($35) from Shoe La La makes up in style what it may lack in height. Just the sort of metallic-detailed footwear that works with everything from maxi skirts to flirty little summer dresses.

**
Perfectly striped pack**
A fresh line of backpacks at Red Arrow Workshop is proof that style doesn't have to come at such a high price. Lightweight and well-constructed, this perfected printed pack ($36) is big enough for all the necessities and small enough to tote all day.

Think pink
The easiest way to take an everyday easy look to a funky place - unexpected jewelry. A chunky sweet necklace like this one from Jewelie's ($32) layered with a few delicate necklaces of gold, silver or both gives a basic white tank and roughed up jeans an eclectic vibe.
