The LITE Center will host the GEAR UP Financial Literacy Night on Tuesday, April 2, to help improve the financial literacy of parents and kickstart financial awareness in students.
The Lafayette Parish School System's GEAR UP program is hosting Financial Literacy Night on Tuesday night at the LITE Center to help provide families with better financial tools and teach children how best to avoid debt as an adult. The event will feature financial consultant Rachel Cruze as the keynote speaker, who is the daughter of world-renowned financial author and radio host Dave Ramsey. During Cruze's presentation on how to handle money with wisdom, she will go over the fundamental principles of how to give generously, spend wisely and save for the future.
Guests at the event can enjoy barbecue burgers, door prize giveaways, tours of the LITE Center and financial information booths. The event is free and open to the public.
