Acadiana 365’s Weekend Picks

Local events happening this weekend include Pack and Paddle's Local FRYday, Parc Lafayette's Food Truck Roundup and more.

This weekend take some time to visit some of these local highlights from Acadiana 365.

Local FRYday

Pack and Paddle's second Local FRYday event will be held today and features sales on the store's exstensive outdoor gear along with items from local artists and vendors, food courtesy of Freetown Fries, music from The Creole Controversy and free beer while it lasts. The event will also be host to TOMS Style Your Sole Day where local artists will offer custom designed TOMS Shoes for a $10 donation, which helps them support them for the day.

Local FRYday is free and open to the public and will be held on Friday, April 5, from 4-8 p.m., at Pack and Paddle located at 601 Pinhook Road. For more information visit packpaddle.com.

Running of the Ducks

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Acadiana will hold its 23rd Annual Great Acadiana Running of the Ducks fundraiser on Saturday morning where the more than 25,000 rubber ducks representing donations made to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Acadiana will make their way into the swimming pool of Red's Gym. The event will also feature music from the Josh Taylor Band and food and refreshments.

The Great Acadiana Running of the Ducks will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, and will culminate with the releasing of the ducks at 11:30 a.m., at Red Lerille's Health & Racquet Club, located at 301 Doucet Road. Food Truck Roundup

E's Kitchen will be holding its monthly Food Truck Roundup with eight of Lafayett'e best food trucks parked next to its store in Parc Lafayette. Some of the catering cars in attendance include Pelón's Mexican Hot Dogs, Viva La Waffle, Acadiana Grilled Cheese Co., Freetown Fries, Hibachi Hero and many more. Live music will also be provided by the Danny Airhart Project.

E's Kitchen's April Food Truck Roundup will be held on Saturday, April 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Parc Lafayette, located at 1921 Kaliste Saloom Road. For more information find E's Kitchen on Facebook.

Off the GRID

The Mercy Brothers will be performing along with Minos the Saint at Artmosphere on Friday, April 5, starting at 9 p.m.

DND and the Mystery 3 will bring their eclectic multi-instrumental sound along with three surprise musical guests to the Blue Moon Saloon on Friday, April 5, starting at 9:30 p.m.

New Orleans' own The Wooden Wings will be their signature style of alternative rock to the stage of the Wild Salmon alongside Elephunk and Stoop Kids on Saturday, April 6, starting at 9 p.m.

Legendary bluesman Lil' Buck Senigal will take the stage at Artmosphere on Saturday, April 6, starting at 9 p.m.
