Girard Park residents in a heated legal battle with attorney Jimmy Davidson, whose efforts to convert his residential property at Hospital and Girard Park drives to commercial use has caused them more headaches than they can count, have another option to contemplate.
The Andrus family has stepped in with a proposed plan to develop the property for Lafayette General Medical Center's interns and resident doctors.
It's certainly an alternative that could stop the legal fight and take much of the unknown out of the equation - who knows what Davidson will do with the property if he is successful in court.
Will residents drop the legal battle and buy into the deal?
One thing's for sure: It won't be an easy sell.
