Jazz @ The Center presents the UL Jazz Ensemble

On Friday, May 3, the Acadiana Center for the Arts will present its next offering in its Jazz @ The Center series with the UL Jazz Ensemble. The evening will feature 25 of UL's up and coming Jazz performers, under the direction of Dr. William Hochkeppel, as they maneuver their way through classic arrangements, new compositions, Latin numbers and Jazz standards. The performance begins on Friday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the AcA's James Moncus Theater. Admission is $20 and is free for UL students and staff on the day of the performance. E's Kitchen Foodtruck Roundup

It's the first Saturday of the month, and that means that all of the area's food trucks will once again converge on Parc Lafayette for E's Kitchen's monthly roundup. There is little difference from this month's edition that those held previously, other than a live performance from A Funk Band Named Machete. The foodtruck roundup will be held Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Parc Lafayette. As always, the event is free and open to the public. "Be a Heart Starter" Bystander CPR Training Event

The 13th Annual "Be a Heart Starter" Bystander CPR Training Event will give Acadiana residents the opportunity to learn lifesaving bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in this free, one-day event. The event is organized and coordinated by the Acadiana medical community and other community-minded companies and organizations with more than 250 volunteers on-hand to help make Acadiana a safer place to live and work. The "Be a Heart Starter" Bystander CPR Training Event is free and open to the public and will be held on Saturday, May 4, with dual two-hour sessions, starting at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. respectively, at the Cajundome. Off the GRID

The Feed & Seed is hosting a night full of rock from acts both local and regional including The Conrads, Lilly Brave, Oddfellows and Sonic Angels. Doors open at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 3, with music starting at 8 p.m. Admission is $5.

Charles Vincent will be opening for Michael Juan Nunez's newest project The Vermilion Parish Bastards on Saturday, May 4, at Artmosphere starting at 9 p.m.

Blue Moon Saloon will welcome ZigZag Wanderers, Hotblack Desiato, and Circus Genetic on Saturday, May 4, beginning at 9 p.m.

Boxcar Bandits and The Rayo Brothers will be performing at the Wild Salmon, located at 813 Foreman Drive, on Friday, May 3, starting at 9 p.m.
