We loves us some football here at IND Monthly as much as the next person, but this map might be - MIGHT - something of an indictment of our priorities as a collection of semi-independent states in this here republic.
Using publicly available data, Deadspin produced the map above showing where the highest public salary in each of the 50 states goes. It should probably be of little surprise that in 80 percent of the union, that highest paid public employee is a coach, typically a football coach.
