Kelli Kaufman Studio and Gallery will open its doors ahead of schedule to welcome Art Walk patrons this Saturday from 5-9 p.m. Kaufman's original plans were to debut her gallery after The Big Easel event Saturday at River Ranch, but the weather forecast has rescheduled the event to a later date. Many artists still wanted to get their work presented to the public for Mother's Day weekend gift-giving during Art Walk.

Kaufman will have that opportunity.

Her location at 108 W. Congress St. features her paintings reflective of Louisiana marsh scenes, along with other pieces she painted specifically for The Big Easel. Her gallery has the same inviting feel of her pieces - Southern flair meets contemporary. It's a creative space that is spot on for her style.

Before launching a place of her own, Kaufman worked in her husband's wood shed, which she says was cramping her style. "The wood shop outside wasn't cutting it - especially when I was working on large canvases. This is a dream come true for me," says Kaufman.
