The story of local boy to be heard by an audience of 100 million this week
People around Acadiana have heard about Eli Judice. After two books and reaction more dramatic and far reaching that his parents could have imagined, the boy born with spina bifida who is living beyond the predictions of doctors will be known by many more when is story is aired Thursday night on EWTN.
The short version of the Eli saga - local STM teacher Chad Judice learned early in his wife's pregnancy that his son would be born with debilitating spina bifida. He began to pray, sparked a movement even, wrote a book and today the four-year-old is attending Pre-K locally and doing well. He's beat the odds again and again. And he has become a symbol for the pro-life movement.
The first book (Waiting for Eli: A Father's Journey from Fear to Faith) dealt with the decision of the Judices to carry Eli to term despite the odds. The following book (Eli's Reach: On the Value of Human Life and the Power of Prayer) chronicles the reach of Eli from before he was born to the powerful testimony of his birth and progress including women who read Eli's story and chose not to abort.
Chad has been making appearances nationally to share Eli's story. But, the program Thursday will by far be the greatest audience to date.
