LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Lafayette-based home health care company is buying one that serves Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee and Bloomington, Minn.

LHC Group Inc. Chairman and CEO Keith G. Myers did not say what the company is paying for AseraCare Home Health, of Plano, Texas.

A news release Thursday from LHC said annual revenue is about $5 million.

Officials say AseraCare's service area has an estimated 1.2 million residents age 65 and older and will increase LHC Group to 310 locations in 26 states.

The transaction is expected to close around June 28.

Company spokeswoman Amy Stevens says the sale won't include AseraCare's hospices.
