Wedded Bliss

What to wear to the summer wedding, wherever that might be

There's only one person at a wedding sure of what to wear - the bride. The rest of us do our best to guess what's most appropriate using the guidelines of time and place. Beach weddings beckon for laid back chic while affairs at the Cathedral mean demure dresses and high heels. There are no doubt a few affairs of either variety on your agenda and we've rounded up a selection sure to keep you in style wherever you observe nuptials during the season of the wedding.

When in doubt, you won't go wrong with this turquoise, lace-trimmed number from Brother's on the Boulevard. Truly a versatile piece, it's the kind of shape and style you can go to when you're in doubt about just how dressy the affair might be. A hint of lace and a shape that's quite Jackie-O equal timeless, which equals versatile.

For a dressy affair we're loving this grape-hued gown with plunging neck from Maven Womenswear. Pair with dangling earrings and a demure side swept hair do. It's just the perfect cut for a smaller bust and an elegant play on the maxi.

For a boho-inspired maxi that's dressy enough for a beach wedding and chill enough for hanging out afterward, the French Connection silk maxi from Hemline is perfection. Pair with flats and a dainty gold earring along with some shiny bangles. Keep hair beach babe with some Bumble Surf Spray or a side braid.

For another dress that can go dressy or casual, we're loving this floral from Knotting Hill. With a glittering earring and high heels it's just right for a church wedding. Pair with a simple sandal and bright bracelets for a garden affair.
