Continuing our long tradition of being at the bottom of good lists and the top of bad lists, Louisiana is ranked the most miserable state in the latest Bloomberg Best (and Worst) list.
Continuing our long tradition of being at the bottom of good lists and the top of bad lists - and generally thanking God for Mississippi - Louisiana is ranked the most miserable state in the latest Bloomberg Best (and Worst) list.
The state rankings are based on such criteria as infant mortality rates, homicides, high school graduation rates, percentage of residents without health insurance and work days lost to mental and/or physical health issues.
Shockingly, the top 10 most miserable states are dominated by red states in the South, with Mississippi and Arkansas bunched up at the top with Louisiana, followed in descending order by West Virginia, New Mexico, South Carolina, Alabama, Nevada, Tennessee and Kentucky.
The land of lakes is the least miserable state in the union, according to Bloomberg. Following Minnesota in not being miserable are North Dakota, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Iowa, Nebraska, Utah and Wisconsin.
