Weekly unemployment insurance claims stable

The state labor department figures released Monday show 3,027 initial claims compared to 3,026 a week earlier.

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - First-time claims for unemployment insurance in Louisiana for the week ending June 30 were about the same as the previous week's total.

The state labor department figures released Monday show 3,027 initial claims compared to 3,026 a week earlier.

The four-week moving average, which is a less volatile measure of claims, decreased to 3,181 from the previous week's total of 3,251.

Continued unemployment claims claimed for the week ending June 30 increased to 25,389 compared to 24,553 the previous week.

The four-week moving average for such claims increased to 24,505. That's up from the previous average of 23,819.
