Sharon Moss celebrates at Ruffino's

It was easy to spot the party when I arrived at Ruffino's. In signature Sharon (Moss, that is) fashion, the tables were dotted with bright balloons, champagne flutes, centerpieces of vivid flowers (Designs by Dallas) that screamed summer sat low enough to allow ladies to chat easily across tables. Sharon was all raven hair and equally vivid color in a one-shoulder dress that coordinated with the whole affair - not on purpose she assures us when asked.

The group gathered to celebrate Sharon was an eclectic one from interior guru and straight-talker Larayn Guidroz in a fantastic black jumpsuit to the lovely blond Virginia Forestier in tomato red with a pop of turquoise necklace. I had the good fortune to sit next to the ever-creative Julie Calzone in a lemony yellow dress with pops of red accessories. The so sweet Jennifer Jackson kept it simple in a silky black and white dress - chic as ever. And this IND Styler went to one of my go-to pieces these days - a reptile Viereck maxi snagged at Vanessa V. months ago with a tribal necklace.

When it was time for cake Sharon had a tower of red velvet lovelies ready to go (with more bright icing) while Ruffino's arrived with their signature dessert and a special message for the birthday girl - Moss is Boss' - scrawled in syrup before an enthusiastic waiter belted out a birthday tune that rivaled Marilyn's iconic Kennedy tribute. Fitting for Sharon, indeed.
