Balbeisi brings new life to former dining establishment near UL Lafayette.

Noticed the old Gallagher's Café at 405 E. University Ave. is receiving a fresh coat of Ragin' Cajun red paint on its roof? ABiz has confirmed a new dining destination is coming soon.

Nidal Balbeisi, owner of Agave, Zeus and MainStreet Bar & Grill, is slated to launch a new concept restaurant called Linebacker's before the fall semester commences at UL Lafayette in August. "I want to be associated with UL. It's going to be geared to students and faculty," Balbeisi says on his idea to provide something fresh in off-campus options for food. Linebacker's will offer lunch and dinner options featuring a buffet, sandwiches, burgers and wraps. Décor will reflect a tribute to UL Lafayette and the Ragin' Cajuns.

Balbeisi also plans to have outside seating, coffee and Wi-Fi for students wanting a place to relax or study in between classes. Evenings will include dinner options and draft beer selections.
