Take me out to the ball game - or just take me to Fat Pat's.
It's National Hot Dog Day, and if you have a craving for this ball park classic, head over to Fat Pat's for one of its crafty dogs. Today's Dish of the Day is an all-star - the chili cheese coney. Fat Pat's starts with a Nathan's all-beef hot dog on a sesame seed hoagie bun topped with its own chili. Shredded cheddar cheese is then sprinkled on top with a few fresh chopped onions if you choose.
Take a bite and notice the chili has a Cajun flair - INDEats likes lagniappe and tops the dog with a little yellow mustard to add tang to the mild heat of the chili.
Chili cheese not your flavor? The menu has several other hot dog options, including the Windy City dog that has been "dragged through the garden," according to Fat Pat's. This dog is topped with fresh tomato, cucumber, jalapeno peppers, onion and dill pickle. Both dogs are $7.64.
