Hospital and bank team up to offer local execs advice on health care and related benefits issues by CEO of National Business Group on Health.

Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, along with First Bank and Trust, hosted a dinner at Mazen's Grill featuring Helen Darling, president and CEO of the National Business Group on Health. Darling's presentation was titled "Redesigning Health Benefits and Controlling Costs in an Era of Uncertainty."

The National Business Group on Health represents close to 370 mostly large employers (66 of the Fortune 100 companies) that provide health care coverage to more than 50 million U.S. workers, retirees and their families. It is a nonprofit focused on innovative and forward-thinking solutions to large employers regarding their most important health care and related benefits issues.

Locally owned business executives were invited to hear her presentation to better understand how they can continue to provide coverage to employees during a time of rising health care costs. Darling has appeared on CNN, CNBC, ABC and NPR to discuss trends in health care costs and benefits and is widely quoted on the topics by the country's major newspapers, including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and The Economist.
