They're back

Three trends we loved last year, back for round two

We love a trend that sticks around. Gives us another season's worth of wear on our favorite pieces and expands the wardrobe that much more. On the racks about town we've spotted a lot of repeats. Today we're taking a look at three this IND Styler truly loves: the chambray top, the leather trim and the peplum.

Let's start with that something that every single person can pull off no matter age, style or job - leather trim. It takes some nerve to pull off a full leather dress. Even a skirt of leather can be a bit intimidating for the faint fashionista. The little bit of leather trim? You got that. We're loving this simple black and white (still crazy hot color combo as fall wares arrive) top from Hemline that's trimmed with just a touch of leather. It's just how you can wear leather to the office - simply pair with a demure skirt and you're trend worthy and business appropriate. Or add to some tough girl distressed jeans and moto boots for a weekend look.

Over at Brother's they're reordering this beloved chambray top. Truly a wear anywhere piece that can go with printed denim, funky maxis or fresh white. It's also a great option if you're looking for something in the cardigan family to top your tanks but need a look that's more funky/street style than prepster. We're feeling chambray tops with black minis, moto boots (it's all about the moto) and a few too many necklaces of the boho variety.

If you're looking for a seriously flattering piece that's still going strong, think peplum. When these sweet little tops fit properly they create a shape that beckons to the past in the best sort of way and whittles the middle in a way that's hard to beat. This beauty from Maven Womenswear also has the bonus of a lacy vibe (another return that this IND Styler loves loves). Pair with a floral print skirt, a solid black pant or even jeans if you're not afraid of a hefty bit of contrast between this ladylike shape and a tougher vibe.
