A cozy fireplace across from a deep tub (top),
plus muted hues and warm details fill Boni
Ritter's lux bathroom.

There are two kinds of people - bath people and shower people. Boni Ritter is the former. And this is why when she says it was the master bathroom that sealed the deal when it came to her and her husband's River Ranch home purchase, you get it.

"When I first saw this house, that's what got me - the bathroom," Ritter says. "For me, it's about bathrooms and kitchens."

The bathroom is a stately affair that is at once cozy. Despite cathedral ceilings and sumptuous details like glimmering chandeliers, the space feels intimate. Along the length of the bathroom is a tremendous shower with double heads walled off with a frameless glass partition overlooking the Jacuzzi tub. And across from the tub sits the deal sealer - the fireplace.

"This is my relaxation place," Ritter says.

With a flick of a switch the gas fireplace roars to life and creates a bathroom made for far more than the basics of bathing and preparing for the day. This is the sort of room that beckons for you to stay and simply be while an endearing Edna Hibel piece above the fireplace gives the room that unique stamp of its owner.

"That was an anniversary gift from my husband," Ritter explains of the piece that shows the endearing love of a mother and child with warm colors and subtle gold. It's just the kind of addition that makes a simple bathroom feel like a place with purpose. A place that could turn even a die hard shower person into the sort that soaks in the bath.
