NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A truck stop owner trying to continue a quarter-century of showing a live tiger near Baton Rouge has been turned down by the Louisiana Supreme Court. Michael Sandlin says he will keep fighting to keep Tony, his current tiger.
The state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says it cannot confiscate Tony under a judge's order in Sandlin's separate challenge to Louisiana's law against private ownership of big cats.
The Supreme Court refused without comment to hear Sandlin's appeal of rulings that he cannot get a state license to keep Tony at Tiger Truck Stop in Grosse Tete.
