One dead party

by Amanda Bedgood

Vampire's Ball goes way of Day of the Dead

Come Saturday night River Oaks will take on a life like we've never seen before when The Vampire's Ball kicks off with a Day of the Dead casino theme.

"We will have casino games provided by an actual gaming company," says one of the organizers, Nicole Lopez. "All the favorites - poker, roulette, Texas hold em, craps. We will even have actual slot machines."

The band for the event put on by Unitech and to benefit the Children's Shelters is Krossfyre, which means a packed dance floor. And the dress? Well, you know that's just what this IND Styler wants to know about most. The code is something along the lines of creative cocktail. That's code for anything goes really. Nicole plans to rock the Day of the Dead themed makeup.

Last year we spotted spooky gals in colorful wigs with ghostly makeup, we saw a fair share of vampires, this gal was an evil queen and one of our fav fashion plates - Mallory Juneau - did creative cocktail just right by taking her LBD to a spook place with a bit of birdcage veil and lacy gloves. Party Girl will be on hand tomorrow night to check out just how creative your cocktail can get, so come prepared.
