Comeaux, Coussan vie for HD 45 seat

Two years out and two candidates are already in the race to replace term-limited state Rep. Joel Robideaux.

Although the election is still two years out, André Comeaux and Jean-Paul Coussan say they hope to replace fellow Republican Joel Robideaux for the House District 45 seat. The popular state rep is term-limited.

A risk management consultant and business insurance broker for Regions Insurance Inc., Comeaux serves as senior vice president with the firm. He has a degree in mechanical engineering from UL Lafayette and is an active community member.

Although the 2015 election will be his first time seeking office, Comeaux has participated in the past campaigns of Republican state Reps. Nancy Landry and Robideaux and was involved in the successful effort to establish LUS Fiber in 2005.

Coussan is a Lafayette attorney and partner at the real estate title company Andrus Boudreaux.

The civically engaged Coussan is an STM and LSU alumnus who was recently named one of The Daily Advertiser's Top 20 Under 40. He is on the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce's board and has served five years on the Cajundome Commission.
